Office furniture: secrets of long service

When you buy office furniture, what do you think about first? We can say with almost 100% certainty that the first thing a happy owner of new office furniture thinks is that she will always rejoice with her beautiful appearance forever (or at least 50 years!). But what happens in reality: on the table tops of office desks, scratches quickly appear, the fabric chairs of the chairs get dirty, and the leather sofa fades and becomes covered with small cracks. What are the rules for operating office furniture you need to know?

Rule 1. Competent alignment

If the placement of a furniture set in your office will not be done by a professional designer who knows exactly where and what furniture to put, and you yourself, then you need to consider the following nuances:

  • Install furniture only on a flat surface. If you use carpet as a floor covering, then you can also install furniture on it (of course, if you are not going to change the carpet in the next year or two);

Rule 2. Correct humidity and temperature conditions

Remember that the room in which there is office furniture, in no case should be subjected to extreme or contrasting changes in temperature and humidity. Ideal "conditions" are considered to be such indicators:

- humidity in the range from 66 to 85%;

- air temperature is not less than +10 and not more than + 40 degrees Celsius.

Rule 3. Doing the right load

This means that you need to lay out heavy books, folders with documents and other necessary stationery for you, taking into account their weight: for example, heavy books should take their place on the lower shelves, and frames with photos, letters, valuable figurines and other light objects are better all placed on the upper shelves. In this case, keep in mind that folders with important and regularly used information should always be at hand, so it is advisable to put them either in the upper shelf of the table, or directly on the edge of the table.

Rule 4. Protect the surface
  • No one doubts that you are keeping clean and regularly cleaning. But there is one question - what do you do to keep the furniture clean and dry? After all, if a liquid accumulates on the surface (as a rule, not always visible), the probability of an upper layer will increase. So do not neglect the unscheduled cleaning.
  • Wooden and glass surfaces require different cleaning methods. So, glass elements (table top, shelves in the closet) can not be wiped with special means. As for the wooden elements of furniture or items with veneer, then to clean them should be used cotton fabric.
  • Leather furniture in the office is always a symbol of high status and refined taste. And in order that it always had an ideal appearance, it should also be taken care of with the use of special preparations that do not include acetone, harmful to the skin and solvents. To refresh a slightly cracked leather surface, use a specialized cream that will restore the original shine and protect the surface from the effects of various external factors.
  • Furniture with fabric upholstery should be cleaned regularly.
